FEATURE: Broadwater woman has a love for painting – and teaching others how to paint

Rachelle Eversole of Broadwater grew up with a love for drawing, and she later became passionate about painting, especially after watching the famous Bob Ross paint on his popular TV show. She eventually became certified as a Bob Ross art instructor, and for about the last 20 years, she’s been using her amazing skills to teach both younger and older people how to paint landscapes, flowers, western art, wildlife, and many other cool-looking pictures.

BROADWATER – As a child, one of Rachelle Eversole’s favorite things to do was draw.

“I think I always had a pencil in my hand,” she said with a laugh. “I can’t remember a time when I didn’t.”

Part of the reason is that she simply loved to draw. Another reason is that drawing helped her escape from the everyday stress of life, especially since she lived in a house with eight brothers and sisters.

“If I wanted to be alone, I would go lie underneath our Weeping Willow tree and draw,” she said. “Art has always been my therapy.”
