‘He is calling me to do this’

Hayley Allen, a 2019 Gering High School graduate and a freshman at Chadron State College, had been saying lots of prayers to God to help guide her in the direction He wanted her to go. She says she ‘got the calling’ late last year, and now she’s planning to take a break from college so she can share God’s word and help serve other people in Australia and nine other countries during a five-month mission’s trip.

CHADRON – When Hayley Allen started attending Chadron State College this past fall, one of the groups she got involved with was Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Being part of FCA, she said, made her even more driven to try to make a positive difference in other people’s lives.

“One thing that we talk about a lot in FCA is leadership – exactly what that means and how each of us can use the talents God gives us for His purpose,” said Allen, a 2019 Gering High School graduate. “Something I’ve really been praying about is for God to put me in a position where I can help lead other people. For the longest time, I didn’t know what that would be.”
