Heather Neu of Westmoor Elementary School in Scottsbluff has been named TC & More’s Teacher of the Week.
Neu has been teaching for 22 years – all as a kindergarten teacher. She started her teaching career in Rushville, teaching there for one year. She then taught for Minatare Public Schools for seven years, and she was also Minatare High School’s head volleyball coach for five years. She’s spent the last 14 years teaching at Westmoor.
Neu and her family have been living in Minatare for about 21 years. She graduated from Banner County High School in 1993.
The person who nominated Neu said, “She’s one of the kindest teachers I know. She truly cares about each one of her students, and I know her students love being in her class. She’s not just a great teacher, though. She’s a wonderful person all-around. She would do anything for anybody. She has a very caring attitude. I know Scottsbluff Public Schools has a lot of awesome teachers, but in my opinion, Mrs. Neu stands out as one of the best. We’re lucky to have her not just in our school but also in our community.”
