Tera Digmann knew at an early age that she wanted to be involved in education. She never lost her desire to help students both in and out of the classroom, and she landed her first teaching job in 2002 at Alliance Public Schools. Digmann is now entering her 19th year as an educator and her first year as an assistant principal at Alliance High School. She said she couldn’t imagine doing anything else, for she loves trying to make a positive difference in the lives of young people.

ALLIANCE – For as long as Tera Digmann can remember, she’s wanted to be involved in education.
“When I was in elementary school, I would always tell people that I was going to be a teacher,” she said.
As she grew older, her desire to teach only grew stronger, especially in high school after she served as a counselor for a week for middle school kids at a church camp in South Dakota. She was also part of a cadet program when she attended Sturgis Brown High School in Sturgis, South Dakota. The cadet program allowed her to help teach and mentor younger kids at the middle school and elementary school.
“Those were great experiences. I really enjoyed the opportunity to work with kids, whether it was at a camp or in school,” she said. “I think it helped, too, that I had a lot of amazing teachers in high school who showed me their love for the job. I couldn’t wait to work in the education field myself.”
