KIMBALL – Carli Wurdeman, a senior at Kimball High School, has been named First State Bank’s Female Student of the Month for September. She’s involved in golf, basketball, track and field, National Honor Society, Interact Club, Kimball Prevention Coalition, jazz band, pep band, concert band, and Quiz Bowl. Her parents are Dane Wurdeman and Staci Harriger.

Q: How many years have you been in National Honor Society?

WURDEMAN: “Since I was a sophomore.”

Q: How important is it to you to get excellent grades and also to be part of National Honor Society?

WURDEMAN: “Grades are above everything else for me. When I was inducted into National Honor Society, that was a moment for me to be proud of myself. I also wanted my school and the community to be proud of me. I think it shows my commitment to grades.”

Q: Have you always placed a high priority on getting good grades?

WURDEMAN: “Yes, absolutely. I maintained a 4.0 until one class my freshman year. But since then, I’ve had A’s. I have a 3.9 GPA.”

Q: Out of all the activities that you participate in, which one is your favorite?

WURDEMAN: “Probably basketball. I’ve played basketball since I was little. I really enjoy it, and basketball kind of runs in my family, so it’s been fun to continue that.”
