NSPIRING YOUTH: Chadron girl enjoys an ‘amazing’ wrestling season

Chadron sophomore Kenli Boeselager didn’t decide until about a week before this wrestling season started that she was going to give wrestling another try after being away from the sport for a year and a half. She’s glad she returned to the mat because she ended up having a memorable season, capped by winning a state championship in the first sanctioned Nebraska high school girls state wrestling tournament.

CHADRON – Kenli Boeselager has always been the type of person who likes trying new things.

So, when one of her close friends, Fia Rasmussen, asked her in eighth grade if she would like to join her on the middle school wrestling team, Boeselager didn’t hesitate to say yes.

“I’ve always taken the approach that if you don’t try something new, you might miss out on something great,” she said. “Plus, I figured if I tried it and didn’t like it, I just wouldn’t do it the next year.”
