SCOTTSBLUFF – Mason Schmer, a seventh grader at Bluff’s Middle School, has planted an entire cornfield this summer in order to raise money for a trip to Boston and New York next summer with his social studies class.

“It’s a thing that they offer up to all sixth and seventh graders,” said Mason’s mom, Kate Schmer. “It’s not sponsored through the school, but Mason decided it is something he wants to do, so he had to find a way to pay for it.”
