Roxie Smith of Alliance has been named TC & More’s Teacher of the Week.
Smith is a language arts teacher at Alliance High School. She’s been teaching for 29 years – all for Alliance Public Schools. She taught at Alliance Middle School for 12 years before moving over to Alliance High School.
In addition to her teaching duties, Smith is the sponsor of the Alliance Key Club, which participates in a number of community service projects throughout the year.
Smith graduated from Newcastle High School in Newcastle, Wyoming, in 1986. She then attended Black Hills State University, graduating with degrees in English and history in 1991. She began teaching in Alliance in the fall of 1991.
The person who nominated Smith for TC & More’s Teacher of the Week said, “She is one of the most kind-hearted people that I know in Alliance. She would do anything and everything for anyone. She’s always there to help. She definitely has made an impact on a lot of students at Alliance High School.”
