Marcelino Hernandez, 91, of Mitchell, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Reverence Funeral Parlor in Scottsbluff. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery near Morrill. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Reverence Funeral Parlor. The service will be livestreamed and recorded to Marcelino’s obituary page viewable at www.reverencefuneralparlor.com. Memorials may be made in care of the family.
Marcelino was born January 16, 1930 in Los Angeles, California. He moved to Nebraska in 1993 with his wife, Linda.
Marcelino enjoyed doing yard work in his spare time and being with family. He loved to tell stories about his life and listened to other’s stories as well. Grandchildren and great grandchildren were a big part of his life. He liked having family get-togethers at his house as he got to visit with everyone and watch the kids play. Time spent with his daughter, Rosemarie, was another thing he enjoyed, spending nights at her house and having coffee together when he woke up was special to him.
He is survived by his daughter, Rosemarie Canseco; and his many grandchildren; and great grandchildren.
Marcelino was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda; son, Marcelino Jr.; grandson, Joey Canseco; great grandson, Robert Canseco Jr.; and son-in-law, Fernando Canseco.
