SCOTTSBLUFF – Halle Shaddick, a senior at Scottsbluff High School, is Nspire Today!’s Female Student of the Month for January, sponsored by 16th Empire Restaurant in Scottsbluff. At school, Shaddick is involved in HOSA, Student Senate, National Honor Society, golf, speech, Bearcats Committed, and Key Club. She has a 3.97 GPA. In golf, Shaddick was on varsity three years, and her performance helped the Bearcats win state titles her junior and senior years. Outside of school, she volunteers at Regional West Medical Center, and she also volunteers at the Panhandle Humane Society. She attends The Rock Church in Scottsbluff. After graduating from high school, she plans to attend Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, where she’ll major in biology and minor in global missions. Her parents are Erin and Justin Shaddick. For being named a Student of the Month, Shaddick will receive a gift certificate for a free meal at 16th Empire Restaurant.

Q: How has your senior year of school been going?

SHADDICK: “My senior year has been going pretty good. I’m really thankful for the teachers and staff who have been making our senior year the best it can be considering the pandemic we’re going through. I’m grateful for all the opportunities we’ve had, especially since I know some other schools haven’t been as lucky as we have.”

Q: Is it surreal to you that you’re a senior?

SHADDICK: “Yes, it’s crazy. I feels like just yesterday that I was at freshman orientation. Everybody says it goes by fast, but you don’t realize just how fast it goes by until your senior year.”

Q: What is your favorite activity at school?

SHADDICK: “Definitely golf because I love the girls on the team. We’ve been really successful together. It was such an awesome atmosphere. I really loved everything about it, especially the coaches and players.”
